Sprickets and bravas and Biebers - Oh my!

Good day yesterday, people. Good, good day. Here's a brief recap in bullet list format:

  • Got my taxes filed
  • Helped Mr. Man get his car back together (he says I helped, I'm choosing to believe him)
  • Ordered some yarn from knitpicks to make Girl Four another hat
  • Listened to Mr. Man have yet another conversation with the Source of All Crazy
  • Went grocery shopping
  • Decided to push the quit date to Wednesday
  • Chose not to clean my house

Some of those deserve some explanation, so here goes! I heard at work that W-2's were coming out on MLK day and had been obsessively checking ADP's website several times a day since then. As soon as it showed up I jumped on it like a spricket. The end result was federal refund, MD refund, owe DE. It's a net gain and that's awesome.

I know i told you I'd finished the hat. Well I showed it to Girl Four when she got home from her mom's (a.k.a. The Source of All Crazy). I crocheted her a hat a couple months ago and she loves it but she wants something softer. Knit hats are always and forever gonna be softer than crocheted ones. She I had her test out the brown hat - she said it was perfect. I offered to let her keep it and she asked if I could make one like it only in her favorite colors (of course I can). I ordered red, yellow, green, and black in Brava worsted from knitpicks so she can experience something multi-colored where all of the yarn is the same weight and texture. Heck, I'll get to experience it too. :)

I skipped cleaning because the kids are off school today and Tuesday, I think so teachers can grade exams and do report cards. I'm planning to tell the boy I need him to dust and vacuum. I already told him I need him to work on cleaning up leaves. We shall see what gets done, shan't we? I'd hate to have to ask his best friend to do it but will if it comes to it!

And Wednesday is our ninth month-i-versary. Like the BBE said, it's our last single digit. I know I've picked today to be my quit date but I had a sort of revelation yesterday in that if I'm going to pick a date to stop smoking all sort of randomly and stuff, I should maybe pick a date that means something super good. So if I fail, I don't kill that day, and I'll have a better chance of success because it's a good day without quitting. And what day is ever going to be better than the day I met the other half of me? So I'm pushing to Wednesday and it'll be okay. I really do think if she had a mouth and was a smoker, that is totally what the answer to Bieber's question in a bubble - What would Hello Kitty do? Wait until Wednesday!

I need to stop blogging now so I can get my stretch on. I'm hoping today is another good, good day.
