Two-fer

Yeah. Two in one day. What about it?

I read an eclectic selection of other people's blogs, pretty much daily now (thanks to Feedly, which I love). Sometimes I'll read something and it sinks in, hooks into me like a fishing barb. This is one of those things.

Crazy Aunt Purl (Laurie) posted the things she likes on January 23rd. I've been thinking and thinking about this since I read it. I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about things that I don't like, that scare me, that stress me or worry me. I've decided I need to spend a little more time thinking about the things I like, the things that make me happy. For one thing, it's WAY more fun to be happy. For another, I think it will help with my now 8 hours old venture into trying to quit smoking again.

So, like kicking my nasty habit, I've decided to try this one day at a time. I might not always blog about it but I will try, each and every day, to think about the things I like. For today:

  • Coffee with milk in it, not creamer
  • My Chromebook (this one may be crossing the line into love).
  • The red bag Mom gave me, randomly, years ago. It is exactly the right size to carry my Chromebook, the power cord, the book I'm currently reading (Stiltsville by Susanna Daniel), and in a pinch a small knitting project
  • Dum Dums. They taste a lot better than cigarettes.
  • Hearing the words You can do this. It's easier to believe in me if the people who care also believe it

And... Skrillex
